Tom is an ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Professional Engineer and ASQ Fellow.  He holds a Bachelor Metallurgical Engineering and Master Metallurgical Engineering.  He has more than 35 years in teaching and industrial and consulting experience in service and manufacturing organizations.  He specializes in Continuous Improvement, Documentation for Quality Systems, Process Control and obtaining ISO Certification.

Abstract:

This seminar/workshop provides concepts, elements and the tools used to initiate and facilitate Continuous Improvement; an ISO & QS standards’ requirement.  

 

In this course:

Ø      Management and Facilitators responsibilities are defined.

Ø      Sequence of events for continuous improvement and the role of management and teams are addressed.

Ø      The sessions include lectures, question and answer periods, and class exercises.

  • Identifying & prioritizing Continuous Improvement opportunities.
  • Team approach - Charter - Mentor - Facilitator - Members.
  • Management & Facilitator responsibilities.
  • Continuous Improvement tools.
  • Sequence of events for Continuous Improvement
  • Role of Facilitator in meetings
  • Individual & group dynamics
  • Meeting Minutes
  • Reports and communication
  • Decisions with management.

 

Who should attend.

Personnel involved in Continuous Improvement as Manager, Facilitator or Team Member.

 

Prerequisites:

Familiarity with data collection & quality tools – e.g. histograms, run/control charts, etc.
